There has always been two strong currents in the matter of questioning about something. Even though that Philosophy and science started together, nowadays the two are far apart from each other.
Science tries to answer the questions like:
How much is 2 + 2?
or
How many molecules of hydrogen are in a particle of water?
However, Phylosophy tries to answer another kind of questions. The answers of philosophy relate more to a way of thinking that to an objective thing, like science does. The type of questions that philosophy tries to answer are:
How does death affect you?
What is the reason for the human beeing to have a free mind?
But how does this can affect our lives? Well, for a start, it can help us choose a career between phylosofy or science and the difference between each other can make you reflect and make a wise choice. On the other hand, ther have been many conflicts because of peaople that think different that do not know how to respect other people way of thinking and have a false need to exterminate them.
So, although they started together, in recent times they cover different things and in some kind of points you can notice a certain contradiction between the two sides.

The thing itself about choosing between a philosophical or a scientist career (it doesn't matter what you choose) could be consider a philosophical decision. You have the information you need, you get thru the knowledge of your options and use this to wiselly make a choice.
ResponderEliminarYou can't be more right about the cause of our conflicts. Our lack of tolerance and respect toward others is our biggest problem, and lets no talk about our lack of comprehension because we won't finish ever.
Nice post, Phyloshophy makes you feel the need to think about your future and what you should do with the time you get left, but science when in it turns its eyes into the future just cares about discover new things to help you with your life.
